Diablo Valley Literacy Council presents ESL Training Workshop March 2009

An English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor Training Workshop is being offered at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in March, 2009. Take this chance to change the futures of local families! With better knowledge and understanding of the English language your student will be able to get a better job, can obtain skills for citizenship, may read to their children, or attend English services. In the workshop you will be trained to teach English to an adult. No prior teaching experience is required, and English need not be your first language. The program requires a commitment of 1 to 2 hours of tutoring each week, and you will be matched to a student for one-on-one sessions. This is the perfect opportunity to use your time and your faith in the lives of others. 
The work shop requires a pre-registration, and a $15 non-refundable registration fee. The location is the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Concord, California. Dates are Saturday March 7, 2009 from 9am t0 1:30pm, Tuesday March 10, 2009 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, and Saturday March 14, 2009 from 9am to 1:30pm. The workshop will train you, and match you.
